No matter how I read that now, I see it as an "I'm leaving" message, but it's not- as you'll soon find out...

There, I think that got the message out properly.


So, I'm not leaving, I'm just drifting further away lately. Unlike most of the awesome people here on dA who "outgrow" the site and move on to more professional sites, I just don't feel like this is what I'm really doing nowadays. I mean, yeah I draw a CG pic or two every month or so- blegh -but, art is not what I'm focusing on. Screw it. I don't even want to do it, yo. Next semester, I want to focus heavily on coding and computer work, not creative stuff. New Media is a creative field, yeah, but I'm sick of being creative. At least, I'm sick of drawing creatively. I'm sick of trying to draw creatively. Blegh. It's not an artblock, it's just that I'm bored with it all. Bored with anime, bored with manga, bored with comics, etc etc. I still read comics, I still look at work on dA and I still draw from time to time, but it's hardly the first and foremost in my mind anymore.

I'm putting all of my creative energy into two things:

1) WORK. Because those graphics aren't going to draw themselves, dammit. (85%)

2) My "alternate comic" *winces* which is not a comic, but there isn't much to it yet so calling it a "story" sounds all weird. It's really more concepts and snippets at this point. I love the characters though- character development really is my favorite thing on the planet. And it's half exciting and half frustrating that I can't actually draw a decent interpretation of these characters.

I'm speaking of course of Pious and Tempest. Surly little sonsuvbitches they are, being so difficult to find a style and look for. They pretty much mock me from the back of my mind. Grr. (15%)


So, there you have it. I'm here; I'm not. I might be in or out or everywhere or whatever.
